Shelly Brown had been a college athlete who was on the track team and ran crosscountry. “I was always very small,” she says. “But then I gained a lot of weight and couldn’t get it off.” Traditional dieting had failed her for years and, though she still ran, the pounds wouldn’t come off. “I was at a point of desperation,” she explains.
